Veterinary Workshops: Simple Fractures
Course Description
This course simplifies the surgical repair of the most common types of fractures seen in veterinary small animal practices. The plating technique is taught and practiced in this course, as it is the most versatile and the simplest to use.
It's too expensive you say to get equipped? Approximately $1800 will get you started and approximately $3500 will buy you a complete set. How is that possible? Like her workshops, Dr. Sylvestre's fracture repair kits are: "To the point, practical and precise". Note - all equipment is graciously provided by Securos; and yes, there will be kits available for purchase at the workshops.
This 1 day workshop focuses on:
- Becoming proficient with the use of the plating equipment
- Mastering the approaches to the various bones
- Practicing by repairing SEVERAL fractures on cadavers
- Learning what equipment and inventory to buy and what NOT to buy
- Prescribing appropriate post-operative care
- Most importantly, knowing which cases to select
Who Is This Course For?
Any veterinary practitioner who is comfortable with surgery and wishes to be able to repair many of the fractures that are currently being splinted or referred.
